Leicester Special Olympics School Day Games, aka LSOSDG

The Leicester Public Schools and the LSOSDG committee are excited to host our 11th annual Special Olympics School Day Games event on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Leicester Middle School track.  The event is for Special Olympic athletes ages Kindergarten to age 22.

Opening Ceremonies begin with a parade at 9:15. Games begin at 9:30 and conclude around 1:00.  School District personnel will accompany students to the Middle School and return to their associated schools upon game completion.  No dismissals will be allowed from the field, and any dismissals must go through the school office. 

Parents/guardians are invited to attend to cheer on the athletes.

The activities include:

• Running / Wheelchair races

• Relay Races

• Throwing- bean bag, softball, football,

• Jump Rope / Long Jump

• Soccer Skills

• Olympic Town- Arts & Crafts

Ham or turkey sandwiches, fruit, snacks, and water will be provided for athletes. If your child has any food restrictions, please have your child bring a home lunch.  Parents, guardians, and other spectators are encouraged to bring a bag lunch for themselves so they may eat with their child. Lunch is only provided for the participants and registered volunteers.

If your child is interested in participating, please complete the Special Olympics School Days Participation Form by April 3, 2026.

Paper applications will be available through your child's school or by contacting us below.  Either way is acceptable but please only fill out one registration per child. Once registration is completed, you will receive confirmation via email with additional information, including the team assignment in May.
